Looking On The Bright Side

Looking on the bright side of a situation is more of a responsibility on the Individual seeking reconciliation with life.  Things happen.  They always will. What are you prepared to do when the unexpected (or the undesired expectant) happens?

Even when seen by a Licensed Therapist or a Life Coach, the bulk of the responsibility to looking on the bright side belongs to you.

Your loved ones, family, and friends can only love and support you to the bright side, but it's up to you to look on it.

A few ways of looking on the bright side are:
  1. Look for it - no matter what happens, there is a silver lining in the course of the event.  You can always start with the negative and find the positive within the negative.  For example, my computer has been out approximately a couple of months.  It was difficult to get my posts done without one.  I performed the last one on a borrowed one.  What I did to conquer the negative to a positive was to get a notebook and start writing with pen and paper.  That's the bright side.  There was no excuse for not writing the posts even if I was unable to get them online.
  2. Don't complain - although your emotions are valid, complaining does no good when looking for the bright side.  You can turn these negatives into positives by changing your words.  For example, "If it ain't one thing its another" can be turned into, "At least I know what the problems are, now let me get what I need or who I need to help me solve the problem."  That's the bright side.
  3. Assess the event, behavior, and outcome - just as you conduct a transaction with a merchant with currency, you may receive change because you gave so much.  The same with your situation, an event has occurred and you are still here.  Meaning, you are the change left over.  You were given back to life.  Change has value to it.  That's why it is given back to the consumer.  There is so much value left in you.  That's the bright side. Take note of what went on before the event, during the event, and the aftermath (the recovery stage).  The recovery stage is you left with all your emotions, your life and ability to go back to life as it should be even if you don't know what to do at the moment.  That is the bright side.
There are many other things I'm sure that can be done to support you looking at the bright side.  The question is, "Are you ready to look on it?'
