How My Life Has Change Since Recovering from Abuse

My life has changed over the last two years since I began recovering from a life of abuse. It has changed a lot! Change is good, especially when carrying you in the direction of expansion, greater opportunities, or growth.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc. 1 in 7 women and 1 in 25 men have been injured by an intimate partner.

I shared those stats with you 1st to give you an idea of how serious this public health issue really is, and 2nd to let you know that all victims and survivors of abuse do not experience these occurrences the same way.

If you or someone you know are experiencing abuse, here are a few things you can do: if you are in immediate danger, call *911; you can also call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1 (800) 799-7233; if you are unable to speak safely, text LOVEIS to 1 (866) 331-9474.

Below is a video I created to disclose to you how my life has changed since I started recovering from abuse.

My hope is that everyone is in a safe place and enjoying time with their loved ones.Feel free to email me at proactiveeye@gmail.com with comments, questions, or concerns you would like addressed.
